I have to start by saying that the 3 star review is for me and me alone. I am a field geologist for an engineering firm and had my eye on these boots for months before deciding to order them. First thing I did was take the advice of the company and order a half-size bigger than I normally wear. Here is what I learned. 1.) I should have gone a full size bigger. The boots are really well made and are absolutely beautiful (I got compliments on them daily) but once they started to break in and I would slide around in them, the small toe box would leave enormous blisters on top and sides of my toes however they weren’t big enough to accommodate a proper sock. I normally wear a 38, ordered a 39, and it was still a problem. As a veteran, boots are nothing new to me, but these were unusable. 2.) The tiny lugs on the bottom were great in the field, unless you were in damp/wet, fine grained, cohesionless soils. Then expect to bust your butt. It was like being on ice. This one was all me and nothing on Xena. I should have recognized that this would be an issue, but I let how cute these boots are lull me into complacency. Perhaps these are better suited to a manufacturing type facility? Not a great field boot (much to my sadness!) Fortunately, they fit my daughter just fine otherwise I would have just had to deal with having a $200 pair of unwearable boots just sitting in the closet. I have ordered something else from Xena and hope that these will work better

I love these boots! I tried to wear them around the house for a little bit but that lasted about 40mins. I ended up wearing them downtown with a lot of walking and my feet didn’t bother me. Only thing was my pinky toes hurt a little but maybe because it was the first time actually wearing them and I did a lot of walking. I bought them for work and now I refuse to wear them to work because they are too cute. I have worn them with EVERYTHING in the last two weeks. Guess I’m gonna have to buy a second pair for work. I am usually a 8.5 but I ordered a 9w because my feet normally swells if I’m on them all day. They have been a good fit and my boots I always wear a half size up but the W fit is perfect I probably could’ve ordered a size 9 regular. I ordered a different pair before these but they seemed a little too dressy for work for me. My next purchase will probably be the knee boots super cute! Nobody could tell they’re steel toe shoes.

I searched far and wide for a pair of stylish steel toe boots and came across Xenas. Love the look of them - on a comfort scale, I can’t even wear them, they’re so uncomfortable. I’m typically an 8.5, so I ordered up like the website said getting a 9. The 9s were a bit big and floppy on my foot so I returned for an 8.5W.. After breaking in for a few days, decide to wear them to work, I was basically crawling out of work because my feet hurt so bad! So definitely be sure about the sizing before you scuff them up like I did and can’t return them. I will say for only wearing them about 6 times I am surprised how easily the toes scuffed up.

For the price, things started to break immediately. First week one of the ankle loops ripped, followed by the lace loops and seams. 3/5 Stars if they were $80, but the quality is not worth $200. Certain aspects are well made, but others feel cheap and rushed/break with typical wear. Has the potential to be a really great shoe, but doesn’t compete with Carolina/Cat for price and durability

These are still fairly new for me. I am hoping once they get some wear they'll be a little less stiff, typical with any new boot. The quality is great! I ordered a wide bc I prefer a wide toe box. Love the side zip option so I don't have to tie every time, the tongue does slide over some, still trying to figure that out so it's not crinkled and jabbing the top of my foot! Overall I would order another pair! I ordered these for function and fashion and they're holding up to both! ☺️

Really cute work boots and great color. Seem well made but not wide enough for me. Ordered an 8 1/2 wide and a 9, the 8 1/2 rubbed my baby toe and the 9 was too long. Disappointing because I really wanted these boots. I appreciate that Xena encourages you to wear them a bit to verify the size. Problem with it is if ANYTHING marks your boots you may not be able to return them. I was more concerned about marking the boots than the fit. I don’t make enough to throw away $200

I've been eying these boots for a while and finally pulled the trigger using my company safety boot allowance money. I had tried another Xena style that I ultimately returned because they were too big (sized up based on reviews). I also studied the reviews for this boot (thanks reviewers!) and decided on a wide width instead of sizing up. I do not have a wide foot but I am a true 9 and appreciate a roomy toe box, and the 9W is PERFECT. Ordered the lava nubuck (beautiful) and I find myself wearing these all day whether I need them on for work or not. The comfort is unbelievable and nobody even knows they're safety boots. They are so well-made and the zipper is such a great feature. I've had another pair of safety boots with both zipper and laces and I don't think I'll ever buy another pair without. Can't say enough good things about these boots and I've already recommended them to several female coworkers. I'd love another pair in gray nubuck *hint hint* and please keep the (not "vegan") leather coming!

Took a chance on these and so far so good. I buy work boots about every year and a half because I’m pretty hard on them and the materials I use build up in the soles. I’ve never had such a lightweight pair of steel toe boots. These actually feel comfortable enough for daily wear and I’ve been wearing them every day to break them in. They don’t look as hefty as my Chippewas, but the fit is good and the zipper is nice and convenient. (Follow their advice and buy a half size larger than you normally wear.) I’ll need to see how they hold up on site- so far I’ve just done some light work in them, nothing crazy. I’m pleased with my purchase and happy to support a woman-owned business. I’ll probably be a repeat customer, only time will tell.

I love these, especially the zipper. My only issue is that the shoe digs into my ankle where the horizontal seam is. I wear 2 pairs of socks with these boots for that reason. Otherwise, they're fantastic. I love that my PPE can be cute now :)
