Slip resistance that matters

Wet tile, greasy kitchen floors, and spills are the biggest hazard in food service. Xena’s SRO-rated outsoles are tested for traction in exactly these conditions — the Astra, Luna, and Rogue carry our highest oil-resistant SRO rating. If you’re in a less oily environment then SR-rated options can be considered.

Built for a woman’s foot

Engineered on a women’s last — narrower heel, higher arch — so your shoe holds steady through a double shift instead of sliding around like a downsized men’s shoe.

Comfort for shifts that don’t end

Cushioned, antimicrobial insoles and lightweight builds keep you comfortable from prep through close. Supportive work shoes can help reduce foot fatigue during long shifts while maintaining a clean, professional appearance. Combine that with wipeability and you have the perfect service shoes!

FAQ

Are Xena shoes non-slip for restaurant work?

Yes - all Xena styles are slip-resistant (SR), and the Astra, Luna, and Rogue carry the higher oil-resistant SRO rating recommended for greasy kitchen floors. We recommend sticking to SRO-rated styles for service work but some ladies do find success with our SR-rated boots. If you want to try an SR-rated style just make sure to bring a spare pair of shoes with you on your first shift, just in case.

Do I need a safety toe to work in a restaurant?

No, you certainly don’t and OSHA doesn’t mandate it. There are ladies working in kitchens who prefer the protection that a safety toe offers but if you’re flying from back of the house to front of the house then you’re probably prioritizing weight and comfort.

Are they easy to clean?

Yes – all of our leather and vegan leather styles wipe-clean easily, which matters in a spill-prone kitchen or dining room.

Will they hold up to long shifts?

Yes indeed - they're built for it. Cushioned antimicrobial insoles and lightweight construction keep you comfortable through long shifts on hard floors.
