I love these boots! I work in a chemistry lab that requires steel toe shoes. These boots look very sleek and work great with casual and business attire. I will say that the boots do get scuffed up and I would recommend taking special care before you wear them. The scuffs don't look terrible but they are noticeable. These are very comfortable and I would recommend them.

I'm glad a company like this exists, but these shoes did not fit my feet well or my needs. I needed safety shoes for my new job, so I thought the Valence SD Safety Boots would give me new professional shoes that could be worn during testing. Unfortunately, I have a wide foot, and, despite ordering a Wide and a half size up, they just never fit correctly. My pinky toe would rub against the steel cap painfully because the cap didn't really cover it. The half size up made me feel like I was wearing clown shoes and caused shin splints if I walked too quickly. And the overall feel was like any fancy boot, meaning, not that comfortable. I couldn't stand in them for more than an hour or two. And despite getting a wide, you can clearly see where my foot bulges on either side of the steel cap when I wear them. And in my new office, the "ugly" safety shoes are acceptable since basically everyone wears them. So the professional look wasn't necessary. After trying to make them work for a month, I bought different, regular, less professional safety shoes and they're so much more comfortable. I think these could work for some people. But probably only people who have long and narrow feet, don't need to spend extended time standing, and who go back and forth between truly professional work spaces and a shop floor.

shoes-i like them a lot. Broke in easily to fit my wide foot. Customer service-I would gladly give more than five stars. I made a mistake, called to change my order and a human answered the phone immediately. A few months later, I call to ask for a copy of my receipt, the same person answers the phone. Both times it took less than one minute from when I dialed the phone number to get what I needed. As long as they keep selling vegan safety shoes, I don’t plan to purchase any other brand.

I love that they do not “look” like work boots and I can transition easily from “plant-life” to “home-life” of school activities, grocery shopping, etc. without feeling gawky in my “work boots”!

I LOVE these boots. There was a slight break in period of about 2 days but I’m very happy with them. I’m an operations manager at a manufacturing plant and walk the production floor a lot. Safety shoes are mandatory. Although my office is is “office casual” these are great for dressing up, casual, and everything in between. I wear a size 8 and ordered 8 wide. The fit is great, I can wear them all day comfortably, and they work great! I’ll be ordering in another color I just haven’t decided what style yet. If your reading reviews order them. Great boot and cute little details in the overall presentation, like the insole and box design. Was a bit disappointed in the general shoe packaging though… as it resulted in one of my boots coming straight out of the box with a giant crease in it. I considered sending it back due to that… but given they were “work boots” and would eventually get creased anyways… I opted to just accept it for what it is and just keep them. I was able to repurpose the shoe bags though… so, pluses and minuses I suppose. Overall, I would recommend. Definitely follow the sizing guideline.

Super sturdy, well made, and stylish pair of steel toe work boots! I needed to buy a pair for work and was so glad when I found this site with a bunch of cute styles! I recommend sizing up a half size from your normal shoe size so there is room for your toes and thick socks for comfort and warmth. Also check your foot width size, so glad I got the wide version of the shoe. I will definitely be purchasing again from Xena!

I honestly don't know if they're worth the price compared to other steel toe boots for women. They were very unfortable from the start, but I knew I had to break them in. However, I've had these for 6 months now and they're still sooo uncomfortable. I sized up and ordered wide so the overall fit is fine, but my pinky toes are killing me. I can't wear them more than 2 hours at a time. I don't even have wide feet (I comfortably wear high heels, nike etc with no issues). Before these, I wore Doc M. steel toe shoes and they were way more comfortable and affordable. Also, there's a seam around ankle area that is really stiff and poking out that keeps rubbing against my skin so I can't wear ankle socks with these.

I have been wearing the waterproof vegan boots at the barn when I ride horses. The black color looks nice with black half chaps. My toes have been stepped on twice by a horse and didn't feel any pain. They have been flexible enough to allow for heel flexibility. The soles allow for both good grip in the stirrup and also good feel for the stirrups. They clean up easily after walking into a muddy paddock.
