★☆☆☆☆So disappointed—they hurt
I received my Horizon EH/PR safety boots in early Dec 2023 and was looking forward to finally having real, protective workboots on the job. I’m a stagehand (working in arenas as well as theaters), and am on my feet moving and assembling heavy equipment for hours at a time. I sized up by a half-size as advised, and wore them around the house for about a week to break in, again as advised (“Your beautiful Xenas can take 2-5 days to break-in as the footbed settles, the leather stretches, and the shoe-padding takes on the shape of your foot.”) But moving around my house is very unlike striding around docks and stages, up and down risers and stairs, for 4+ hours at a time. First time out on the job they rubbed my right heel raw. I continued to try breaking them in for the last few months, since I spent $$$ and “Unfortunately, our small team cannot accept back safety shoes that show signs of wear.” I’ve been bandaging my heel, adding mole skin padding, and switching to my old Skechers half the time. It’s six months later and nothing has changed, except that I’m giving up and hoping Danner or Keen start stocking more boots in women’s sizes. I think it’s incredibly unrealistic to expect work boots to break in or perform in one’s home as they would on an actual job, and scammy to use that suggestion to duck out of replacing a poorly fitting (or poorly designed) boot, esp at these prices. No empowerment here, just $148 less in my hourly-wage pocket. :(

I love the fit of these. They fit just as if I were sizing up in any other Xena Workwear boot. I feel like someone with a slightly wider foot could love them, but that doesnt make them any bit less comfortable for regular width feet. They have a slightly open feeling toe without making it seem like you got the wrong size. I love that they are adjustable at the ankle so ladies with wider ankles can love them too. They have a super cozy feel to them which was so in the colder months. These are my go to jobsite boots for a Michigan winter!

The lack of quality was WILD. Ordered a pair for a site visit and the insoles were a size too big than they should've been. Reached out to customer service about it, they said they'd send the right size insoles but they never did. Figured I'd give one more chance and exchange them for a different pair. The new ones didn't have INSOLES. I was SO disappointed that after having thought that i found a brand that put me first as a woman actually let me down the hardest. Had to settle for a men's pair that didn't fit me right because men are sasquatches. Unbelievably frustrated with Xena as a company and what they stand for

★☆☆☆☆Too big/too small
I am very disappointed in the fit of my boots. I was excited when you *finally* made a work boot fit for my construction job. I was hoping that this woman owned business would be able to anticipate the needs of a woman better than the other companies on the market. Unfortunately, I was wrong. I tried the 9.5 first (true to size) and they were way to short. My toes jammed on the front of the boot. But otherwise, the boot fit perfectly so I thought sizing up a half size wouldn't affect the fit of the boot. When I laced up the 9.5, I barely needed to tighten them, so I felt confident that the 10s would be OK. When I got the size 10 and tried them on at home, they seemed OK. The length of the boot is perfect. However, when I began wearing the boots at work, I quickly realized my foot was sliding in the boot. I tried tightening the boots, and they don't seem to tighten any more, but my foot still feels loose. The difference in width between 9.5 and 10 is far more than I anticipated. Honestly, if I wanted a boot that fit like this, I would have continued with other brands. At least they don't claim to understand women's needs better than the rest. I like the round toe cap, but I do not like that it translated into an overall wider shoe. In addition to the poor fit, the tongue of the boots is shorter than the lace loops. This is an issue I only saw on the size 10s, not on the 9.5 boots. So I can only assume this is a QC issue and not designed. I would be able to overlook this if the overall fit of the boot was good. Unless you have wide feet, I do not recommend these boots at all

The ONLY reason I am giving 3 stars is because it was not comfortable for my weird feet. However I have to say the quality and details and beauty of these work boots are AMAZING!!!! I kept putting them back on to see if I could make it work because of the excellent design and solid craftsmanship. I will definitely try another style!!!

I absolutely LOVE these boots! I have a double wide foot which makes it extremely difficult to find shoes, so I really didn't have a lot of confidence that these would fit. One review said it fit like a wide so that made me decide to try them. I am impressed to say the least. These fit me like a glove! I will definitely recommend this company and shop again if needed, Also, I LOVE the fact that you have a statement telling women they are beautiful in the shoe liner! Love it!

I loved the smell of new leather when I opened the box. The packaging was well done. The boots were soft and gave me the impression of fine Italian leather. Then I put my foot inside. My idea of luxury and comfort diminished. The inserted insole has much to be improved. Little cushion, especially towards the ball of my foot. I was so disappointed. I felt like the ball of my foot was on concrete. Tried to find alternative inserts from other shoes and gave up. The boot would be five out of five stars if that element could be improved. The insert should provide excellent support for walking on concrete. I fear my feet will hurt when I walk long distances or stand for a period of time. Boots are so close to perfection.

They’re perfect for work! I work at a port around large machinery and trucks and I’m required to wear steel toe shoes! These fit true to size and they’re comfy even before being broke in, the laces are nice too! Most boots come with the stiff laces that won’t stay tied! I love these boots!

The first pair I ordered was clearly damaged, including scuffs and parts that were sewn unevenly or looked melted on the top. Customer service was great with the exchange. The second pair had similar issues but less obvious and only on the very top, and I overall love the design, so was going to keep it anyways. Then I wore around the house and quickly realized the alloy toe on one shoe was not lined up right and stuck out a bit, creating a ridge I could feel rub my foot. I tried to exchange one more time, but now my size is sold out. I was given a refund.

Love the look and feel of these boots. I got my pair in black. They are comfortable and stylish and most importantly, functional! I have a very narrow and small foot (size 6!) and needed the 6.5 size for this boot. I do have to wear a bit of a thicker sock when wearing these boots for a better fit, but that is no big deal for me. I would suggest that the inside seam at the back of the boot be smoother, only because it does rub my heel slightly. Otherwise, very happy with my purchase!

I purchased 2 pairs of Horizon boots to make sure I received the right size. I wasn’t sure if the 9 was too snug but found 9 1/2 to be too big. So I settled on the size 9 and have been very happy with my choice. No blisters bc I took 4 days to break them in before getting to the build site. Special shoutout to customer service who promptly fixed an issue with the tracking as my original order was shipped to another state. They corrected the delivery and my boots arrive in time for work. Highly recommend this company for service and quality. Plan to buy from here in the future

These boots are beautiful, waterproof, prevent slipping and sliding, and are high enough to protect the ankles from rolling. (Which is vital in my field) The only thing I don't care for are the heel placements inside of the boot. I've broken them in and still find myself having to double up on thick socks and put bandaids on the backs of my feet. It feels like I'm walking in heels. I wish the padding was a bit thicker there or the placement was a bit different. They arrived very quickly and I'm just glad to have found a women's workwear boot in a size 6! They say to go up half a size but that wasn't the case for me. I'll probably order another different pair if I can get them in a size 5.5.

Ok first I want to say I did not think I would love these boots. I work in the mobile home communities doing home repairs and refurbishing for new residents. So my feet take a toll and hurt all the time with the boots I normally get. I was unsure of the height of the boots because it might not let me move like I need too… and yesterday my old work boots finally fell apart and I just received these Xena boots and thought I have no choice but to wear these today…. This was the best decision I ever made!!!! I am now at home and been in my new boots for 14 hours and my feet feel amazing. I had such great support around my ankles but could also bend and move like I was in tennis shoes. I live in Florida and it’s almost October but still highs in the 90’s and my feet did not get hot. These boots are amazing I am so glad my fiancé told me about your site!!!!! Also very light weight!!!!!!!

Really wonderful style and fit! I love that it’s a safety toe with shock and slip resistance. The only thing that I wish was different is the pull tab on the back—I wish it was leather as well so it’s easier to loop a finger though to pull on. The ribbon gets flattened too easily.

After the first month the left shoe start to squeak, not sure why,they are a good fit otherwise. Their outer material seems to be good quality, but I'm on my 8th month and the soles have worn a lot. I'm guessing due to the non-skid I work on. Overall is a good shoe if you don't work on non skid and don't mind not being stealthy. I get a lot of compliments.

Love these boots! I am a propulsion engineer at SpaceX, and I recently moved to Brownsville, TX because I got transferred to Starbase. We wear steel-toes every day at Starbase, so before moving I purchased the Horizon EH / ER Safety boots. I love wearing these boots! They are so comfortable, and I appreciate the ankle support. I really don't notice them on my feet even after 12+ hour days. Definitely break them in first before wearing them on the job site, but other than that, I definitely recommend these boots!

I love these boots! They actually smell like leather. Love that they came with two reusable boot bags/covers for when I need to travel with them in luggage. I did have a bit of a rub on the back of my heel - I wasn’t wearing true “boot socks” and I think having thicker socks would take care of that issue. The only reason for one star deduction is that I noticed after my first time wearing them that the toe had a small rubbed off area in the leather. Seemed pretty crazy and they will probably look pretty rough pretty quick given I’m around quarry/steel mill/construction environments.

Hoping these boots are a good fit. Have a lot of problems with boots. Either being to small to tight or hurt my feet did a lot of searching and hoping because of added reviews I've read as well as sites I've gone through that these boots will be the right ones for me. I did not see a wide option, but ordering a 1/2 size bigger hope that well help. I am a bigger woman. I work in a warehouse in low temperature and usually have a lot of problems with soreness and pain in my feet. Wish me luck

★☆☆☆☆Slippery, false advertisement, not resistant
They are awful. I work on a tanker ship, they are are branded as oil and spill resistant that's why I bought them, I got them today and within an hour I was walking around and kept sliding around the room. I tried to give it the benefit of the doubt and think maybe its just not used to it so I wore them for another 30 minutes just to slip again and fell from some stairs luckily I was holding into the handrail or it could have been a really bad injury. I don't recommend this at all, expensive, not safe nor comfortable. I regret buying them and I know I won't get a refund since I wore them for an hour and half. I switch to my old pair right after the incident, not gonna buy from here again, it's suppose to be oil and spill resistant yet made me slip and fall and there wasn't even a spill in the floor, the shoes are just slippery itself.

Disappointing. This was my 3rd trial of these boots. The first 2 pairs I received were damaged and had defects. I posted a review with pictures and Xena took it down from the site without contacting me. I contacted them about it and they said it must have been a mistake and offered no specific explanation or resolution. Maybe it was a mistake, but this seems very sketchy. I used company credit to purchase, otherwise I would have taken the refund and given up. This 3rd pair looked ok, other than the tongues are short (on one shoe especially) so that the tops are lower than the highest laces. I wore these around the house a couple times, and all seemed fine. I wore them out to a project site and after only about an hour of walking, the right boot had worn a blister/cut the skin on the back of my Achilles. I will keep trying to break them in. I really want to like these boots and support this company, but it has been a struggle.

These boots are so incredibly light and comfortable, I'm so glad I decided to get these instead of boots from a big box store! I wore them around my house for a few days and, while they rubbed my heels at first, they quickly conformed to my feet and are some of the best fitting boots I've ever had. I don't slip and slide on the oil on painted concrete in the shop anymore, thank yoooou. Not to mention the materials and design are just *chefs kiss*. 10/10 will buy again.

Recommend getting a half size up. It takes a couple weeks to stretch to size. And you cant exchange them for another size if you wore them even one time. The no return policy is kind of unrealistic- i ordered these shoes because my last ones broke, i cant wait two weeks to “break them in” without actually wearing them. The support around the ankles are very nice. Wish the laces came in plain black or at least had the option. The material scuffs very easily tho.

I purchased these boots for inspecting kitchens in Nov ‘23. They have a great fit, comfortable , minimal to no break-in time, true fit, shoelaces did not untie, high ankle support (huge plus), awesome lace hardware, and my feet never hurt at the end of the day. The boots felt and looked incredible. But, despite being slip resistant, I found myself slipping several times (grease, water, food, soap on floors) at work. I ended up buying new boots, which was a bummer. But, if you don’t have these work conditions, these boot could be a great fit.

I have a pair of Horizon safety boots and I love them! I have fibroids in my arches and these make my feel feel so good. It took a couple of weeks to break them in, I get over 25k steps in every day at work, but I really like them. I'm planning to order a lighter pair for warmer weather and I really want a pair for just wearing around after work. I liked the payment plan too, it eased my mind about spending money on my investment.

The clean look did not last as they have been through concrete, screws, mud, wood, but they are still going strong. I've been buying Xena since they came out, but happy to see more styles coming out.
