So tight. Sssooo tight. I had to have my husband help me zip them. I have a 15" calf circumference and it totally depends on the brand whether I go wide calf or not. And it's not just the calf, the ankles are tight and the steel toe box. I'm going to do my due diligence and wear them at home only for 3 days to see if they stretch at all. But so far, I can't fit my skinny jeans in them, just leggings, which I can't wear to work. Something tells me I will be returning them and waiting for the wide calf version. Also be warned, they are light weight but hot. I hope my feet don't sweat all winter.

I am absolutely in love with these boots. I work on the counter at a rental store and have struggled to find a boot I can wear to work that I feel like myself in. Before working in rental I was managing shoe stores for several years and had always been in retail. It was very hard to get used to steel toed boots. I’m so thankful for Xena and these riding boots! They were hard to zip the first time but I went slow and stretched the elestaic portion as I zipped them. The second time I put them on was much easier. The ankles are stiff but you can tell it’s really nice leather and just needs broke in. Overall I couldn’t be happier and can’t wait to be able to get the brown too!

AMAZING! I've been looking for steel toe riding boots for YEARS. I am so happy to have finally found some that fit my very narrow calves like a dream! I also love that, as a Wisconsinite, this brand is MKE-based. These are definitely best for narrow calves, and one should follow instructions and order a 1/2 size up. I also like that I can comfortably wear SmartWool socks inside these boots to stay warm, as steel toes are notoriously cold. Thank you, Xena, for making the boot I've been dreaming about!

These are beautiful leather boots! I got the chestnut brown, and they are a rich, deep brown color. They appear very well constructed and made to last. They have heavy duty sole on the bottom so should be perfect for all types of environment. They also have a nice lining inside the boot for comfort. I would definitely follow the suggestion for a half size up! I am on the larger end of the calf sizing and these do fit. However, they will be mostly worn with dresses or leggings/long tops at work. Jean material is a little too think for me to tuck into these.

I sized up by 1/2 and I’m glad I did - they are very comfortable in length and width. They were tough to zip up, though, so I wore them around at home for the weekend, and that helped a lot. I wore them to work everyday this week. The first few days they rubbed on the backs of my ankles and I was really worried about it. But by the end of the week they broke in nicely. I tucked the certification card in the top of my right boot, in case I was questioned about them. I got compliments from several people and got to spread the word about Xena! I can’t stop smiling about them - they are absolutely gorgeous!

Let's start by saying the packaging was amazing. They are definitely a stylish, sleek boot and I love the riding boot length. They do tend to run small so size up when ordering. I wore mine around the house the first week to break in and today was my first 10 hours on the job. I'm impressed with comfort and fit other than some slight ankle stiffness and rubbing, but I look forward to breaking them in further

These boots, like all Xena products, are made from high-quality materials and they look incredible. Unfortunately, this style is very tight in the calves. The description does say that these are best for narrow calves, but since I have never had to purchase any other boot in a wide-calf option, I thought I would be okay. Definitely wait for the wide calf option to be released unless you have very slender legs. I will be jealous of my slender legged friends who can wear these gorgeous boots while I await the wide calf option!

I started following Xena earlier this year, and was thrilled to learn about the new riding boot! My advice would be, follow their suggestions!! Wear them for 3 days to break them in, and order at least a half a size (if not a full size) bigger than you need. I have medium-big calves, and these barely fit me....I have to squeeze into them but once they're on, they're fantastic. I did have some trouble with my ankles/back of my foot rubbing the first few days, but once they started adjusting and stretching, they have become much more comfortable. I look forward to more fantastic Xena products in the future!!

I have owned two pairs of Xena's prior to this, the Gravity and the Gravity 2.0 (only bought the 2.0 because my puppy loved my Xena's as much as I did!). I have been looking for riding boots for YEARS to no avail, so when I heard that Xena was going to begin producing them, you better believe I pre-ordered. They came quickly, were wrapped beautifully, and looked amazing! Good boots always take a little time to break in, and these were no different. They are a little stiff around the ankle, I just threw in a little extra padding while I was breaking them in. And as others stated, they are snug in the calf, which I was initially skeptical of, however, that turned out to be one of the things I like best about the boot. I am excited to test them through the Wisconsin winters (they look amazing with a sweater or blazer by the way).

I got so many compliments that day. I kept the card in my back pocket because I knew there would be many questions about whether or not they were truly steel toe boots! Let’s just say ha ha I was on cloud nine that day! Thank you thank you thank you so much for such a lovely pair of boots , they are very stylish! Very stylish! We have about 1000 employees. And we have a shooter that comes every Monday. I hope that someday someone from your sales group could contact our company and see about getting some of the boots on the truck so other women could enjoy these as well and the money will be taken out of their paycheck. Although I did love having the only pair of riding boots in the entire plant for the day. I would want other women to feel just as wonderful and a pair of your shoes. After having my Gravity booties for almost a year I decided to also get a pair of Nova boots. Both boots are by far the most comfortable and stylish safety shoes I have ever owned. They were broken in within only one or two days of wear. My desk is located on the production floor so I am required to wear safety shoes and business casual which was hard to do before getting my Xenas. They pair well with my weekday business casual attire and look and feel good enough to keep wearing them after and outside of work as well. I wore my Gravity booties almost everyday for the past year and they are still in great shape. I am very impressed with the quality and durability of these shoes and would definitely recommend them.

I purchased my size and it was small so I exchanged for a size bigger, they were super tied but I was told they would get loose as I use them and they have gotten a lot more loose and I get lots of compliments on them. As the owner of the company I go to job sites but I also meet with investors, business owners and inspectors. I wanted to be safe but the was no safety shoes but with style besides the timberland which to my taste they don’t go with my style. I do recommend this boots just make sure you order wide calf and one size bigger since they run very small and I have a very petite feet..

First off, I am so happy I found Xena and can now feel fashionable, professional, and safe at work. I bought these to stay warm on long walks between buildings at our plant. These boots are absolutely beautiful, no one I work with will believe they are steel toed. It took me a few days to break them in, because they have a good fit and are high quality. So be prepared, I agree with the recommend to wear them around the house first. The calf on these is very tight. I’m pretty sure I have regular size calves (13”) and I have never had an issue with a boot fitting, but these just barely zipped up. Xena is working on an extended calf size, so definitely wait for those if this will be an issue for you. The design of this boot is very similar to the Omega, so I ordered my normal 7.5 in both and they fit perfectly. Be ready for some big complements!

I wear a 9.5 in most shoes and I followed the recommendation in the comments to size up. I love these boots and they are very high quality, but the ankles are VERY narrow. They have loosened up a bit after a week of wear but are still a little too snug. I thought the ankles looked disproportionately small in the photos and they definitely are in person. I'm keeping the boots but I do think this is a design issue worth addressing.

Gorgeous boots! After reading the reviews of others, I opted to get the "regular" calf size, and as instructed, went a half size up. Unfortunately, the regular calf size was huge, and I have never purchased boots in a narrow calf in my life. I'm pretty small, but my legs are all around more muscular. I emailed Xena and they immediately got back to me with a link to exchange. The narrow calf size feels snug on the inside where you zip it up, and roomy on the outside, but they look great, and are very comfortable. The leather is excellent quality and after wearing for one night out I had no issues wearing all day at work that week. Definitely recommend wearing around the house and letting the leather stretch to fit you first. Overall, I am very happy with this company and will absolutely purchase from them again!

This is my 3rd paid of boots from Xena . I’m a 6.5 but in Xena , I wear a size 7. The regular fit works great for me, they are warm and breathable , very comfy ! Look great too. I was concerned with all the different reviews that they might not fit my calf but I’m 5’6 Curvy Athletic build and they work great ! I’ll have all their shoes more than likely by the end of the year at least another color in these as well . Having to wear steel toes everyday , these make me forget I’m even wearing them! Also flashing the compliance card when I get questioned about my shoes on the job site is pretty nice.

I wear them with pant suits and with dresses and skirts. I have a narrow calf and they fit me fine, even with thicker socks. Where do I start? I now own three pairs of these amazing work boots. I work in the lab and we are required to wear FRC (Fire Resistant Clothing). We also have the option of wearing street clothing but with a lab coat. Wearing street clothes with non-Xena workboots is okay if you're wearing casual, plain t-shirts and jeans. Now I can wear business casual and meet code while looking professional! I love it! After reading the reviews I ordered the brown Nova riding boots in size 9 since I normally wear a size 8 1/2 shoe. I debated on whether to get the narrow or regular calf size and finally decided on the regular. They fit great! I thought the calf was a tad bit roomy so when I ordered a second pair in black I got the narrow calf. They fit snug and comfy. Honestly, I could not tell you which calf size I prefer. Maybe the narrow calf because I just love the snug fit. I would not describe my legs as "skinny" either but I have always received compliments (men and women) on my legs so I am guessing that they are considered "shapely". That statement is for anyone trying to figure out whether to get narrow or regular size boots. The BEST feature is that these boots accommodate my custom made orthotics. The VA (Veterans Affairs) provided me with only one pair and I have to remove/insert them into each pair of shoes I wear. Unfortunately, it is rare for my inserts to fit most shoes unless I order them from a specialty shoe store that makes shoes specifically for accommodating custom orthotics (expensive). In fact, only once have my orthotics fit shoes I purchased from a regular shoe store. Imagine my delight when my custom orthotics fit my Xena work boots! I also have the Omega ankle boots and my orthotics fit in those too! I have received several compliments on these boots at work. My boss even asked me to write down the name of the company so that she could check them out too! Several of my female co-workers have asked me where I purchased my boots and I am always happy to share! I will never purchase my steel-toe work boots from any where else.

So happy I have found these boots, been looking for steel toe riding boots for years. These boots are so comfortable however they take 4-5 days to break in. I normally wear a 6 but originally got a size 7 regular calf, ended up exchanging them for a 6.5 wide calf. Definitely go .5 sizes up and go with the wide calf if you have anything other than skinny calves. I have had to carry the card around with me as people don't believe that they are steel toes. Thanks Xena for making it possible to wear cute shoes at work again while still complying with our steel toe requirement. Definitely will be recommending Xena and purchasing from them again :)

I wanted to wear them a couple of times before doing a review as I really want other woman like me to have a solid review of these boots. They didn’t disappoint and I love them. Some things to note. I have wide feet and wide calf, however when I ordered the wide feet and wide calf version it was way too big on the calf so I had to exchange them (a painless exchange policy). I really wished you had wide feet regular calf but that was not available so I got a regular feet and regular calf. Usually with my 15” calf at the widest, a “regular” won’t fit but I was pleasantly surprised that the elastic on the back was just enough to squeeze my legs in...please note it still required lots of pulling and almost breaking a nail to zip up but since it’s leather I know it will loosen over time. I do wish the flap inside to make sure you don’t zip your pants or skin is a little wider. I also up a 1/2 sized because of my wide feet, wish I didn’t have to because the boots made my feet look bigger. It was very comfy and fit my orthotics very well another thing to note is I have flat feet so finding good shoes is so hard. I have (2) pairs of tims, and (3) pairs of cats, and they all were okay but uncomfortable so I would wear sneakers and change at work and back to sneakers after. Thanks!!
